Birthday Wishes and Oh-So-Soft Dreams

So.....my birthday is coming up. I normally wouldn't mention it here, or anything--rather I would just direct you to my paypal link so you can make whatever donation you're comfortable with. But I discovered a little website this morning that I just HAD to share. See, I did me a little googling with the term "cute pajamas" on account of the fact that I am currently obsessed with having cute pajamas to wear in the hospital and in my post-hospital confinement when people will be coming over to shower me with gifts and praise. I need to look hella good, no? So I came across a little website called Pajama Gram. Now I am just trying to decide what I like. I think someone needs to send me this nightgown:

It says "Queen Mother" on it, which I think is fitting, especially if it comes with this:

This nightlight says "the queen sleeps here:" a fitting alternative to the "princess" paraphernelia that's so popular with the youngsters these days. Let's face it, I can't wear a rhinestone-encrusted t-shirt that says "Princess" but this whole "queen mother" thing is right up my alley.
Or, if you'd like to send something whimsical...

Mike is a size XL and it would put a huge smile on my face to see him in the "Nick and Nora Mad Money Pajamas."

  2. How are you feeling heading into the last two months-ish? You must be feeling good if you're going the cute pajamas route and not the husband's old basketball shorts route. (Truly they were the only pajama like thing that fit near the end). I'm excited for you to meet your girl.

  3. Marcy:
Thanks for the support. Just keep praying for me, and maybe I will get the nightgown.

    Robyn:
Thanks for asking. I'm feelin' fine. Today I had to do the gestational diabetes test and when I was finished I celebrated by buying and eating 1/2 lb. almond bark, and 1/2 lb. sour patch cherries. Hope the test results don't come back positive...

  4. Thinking of you in a nightgown reminds me of when you would sing and dance to OMD's "Secret" at my bidding on top of the table. You should teach Holden to do that. It will cheer you in your confinement.

  5. I love a good nightgown and am always on the prowel for a good one.

My lastest gown, and it can be called a gown, is 1950's sea green polyester in a lovely retro floorlength cut. I saw it at Saver's and bought it immediately. It wasn't until after I washed it, wore it, and took it off that I noticed the name sloppily written in fading permanent marker on the back yoke. It says, "Emma Hale East Wing". Clearly Emma died in her nursing home wearing this gown, so I pay homage to her by wearing it. Creepy? Perhaps, but I sure look like a movie star in it!

  7. One question: How does one wear a nightgown to bed and NOT wake up with the hem of the gown up under your armpits? All that material...and no where to go but up! Isn't it difficult to nurse a new baby in a gown?

Wow - what a downer I am! Sorry.

  8. Yes, Suzie Petunia, you ARE a downer. But to be honest, the whole "Queen Mother Nightgown" thing was just a joke. But I am totally serious about the Nick and Nora Mad Money Pajamas.

  9. Michael, I like your link. I am just wondering about the order of your "favorite blogs." They aren't alphabetical, so they must be in order of how much you like them? To be sure, I'm happy to be mentioned at all but--I'm after Carly? I mean COME ON!

  12. Happy Birthday Carly!!! I hope you are having a wonderful fun-filled day including lounging around in the comfy pajamas of your choosing. Or maybe you could go to one of those swanky pregnanty lady spas...you are in Arizona you know.

I'll have you know my mother told me that your birthday is still on my parent's calendar. You're on the inside track in our fam. Enjoy your day!

  13. What I LOVE about nightgowns is waking up with them up around your armpits. Not kidding.
