Everywhere You Look......Your Husband Shows Signs of Becoming Bob Saget

Lately I have been really wondering whatever happened to predictability, the milk man, the paper boy. . . even TV!

But spending time in San Francisco with Mr. and Mrs. Dibbleblotts gave me some hope. We had a great trip: rode the trolley, went on a night tour of Alcatraz, ate AWESOME burgs at Taylors, even had authentic Chinese food, and went shopping. I even got TWO fashion citations from the fashion police from Marshalls! But the true HIGHLIGHT of the trip was the visit to the famous Painted Ladies--featured in the opening credits of "Full House." The best moment was when Mike casually suggested that we pose on our stomachs with our heads gently cupped in our hands like this. The question is, was he serious? Is he a step away from Bob Saget-hood? Or was this tongue-in-cheek? I certainly felt that my pose was ironic, but Mike was just a LITTLE TOO nonchalant about it. Plus, he kept saying how we "fell back in love in San Francisco." And when I laughed and rolled my eyes, he DIDN'T.

It's true that we needed a little kids-free getaway. This has been such a busy month for me. I have been sitting in my parents' hot tub and winning all sorts of BB gun shooting contests (though I have not yet mastered shooting at a can from inside the hot tub). I have been watching Ewan McGreggor ride his motorbike around the world. I have been planning and agonizing over a possible 6 month stint in Taiwan. I've also been re-acquainting myself with TV--welcome back to my life, lovely television. I can't blog right now, because I have to watch a Project Runway marathon on Bravo. Later, I will pretend to be disgusted with The Simple Life on E! Then I have to scan ABC Family for a Full House rerun so I can see whether or not Mike is really starting to go all "Saget" on me. Stay tuned.

  1. So what if he is Bob Saget! There are a lot worse things he could be, like Uncle Joey. I for one am happy to hear that you are back in love.

  2. I'm glad you are back in love, too. Especially if you go to Taiwan. :) He might be Bob Saget...or Bob the Builder - either way you can't lose.

  4. Hey Carly, if you go to Taiwan, can Hazel and Holden come and live with us? I would love it!! And about Michael, he could be wearing stretchy pants so let's not get too worried!! Loved spending time with you last week. Cami

  7. Glad you're semi-back to blogging. Missed your wit and charm.
Now if you can just get Neil and Marcy to update their blogs from like a year or so ago.
Happy to hear your trip to SF went well. Since I am not acquainted with Mike, I really can't say if he's headed for Sagetdom, just what out for those corn self-effacing one liners.

  8. I'm not really sure why but the theme song to "Laverne and Shirley" runs through my head when I look at this picture. Probably because you are back in love.

"We're gonna make it afterall..." :)
