Car Car SAD; Taiwan Smell BAD

I'm alone in Taiwan with two kids and a 21-week-old fetus in my belly. How did this happen? Mike is gone for a few days for a job interview. It's an exciting job interview, which could result in some great things, so of course I don't begrudge this trip. But I DO begrudge the fact that he is in Utah right now, seeing the snow. Seeing my Momma. Eating food that I dream about every day. Not having to listen to Hazel scream 12 hours (or more) a day. Having access to a car that can take him anywhere he needs to go. And knowing that he cares less about such things as, say, Chick Fila and loading up the tunk of the car with groceries, does not really make me feel any better. In fact, it makes things worse. He's not even going to enjoy his trip half as much as I would. Although, I would probably be more freaked out by the interview than he is, so maybe it's a toss up. Anyway, pity me. Feel really bad for me. I am alone in a foreign land with two demanding, and suddenly really really loud, children.

  1. Poor poor Car Car. You're right, such joys will be wasted on a man. Just think, years from now, you'll tell this story with a smile on your face while people marvel at your international-ness mixed with your toughness and grit. In fact, I'm marveling right now. (Your smile just might be missing.)

    Wishing you luck.

(Should I go to Chickfila in your honor? In Georgia, the home of Chickfila, they're in stand alone buildings with playgrounds like McDonald's. Yes, consider it done. Anything for you!)

  4. I feel for you. I would be upset too. Also, ChickFila is the best fast food there is.

  5. I'm trying to think of something clever to write, but all the good food, warm house, snowy scenery, and clean air has lulled my mind into a sub-conscious stupor that only two days of interviews can re-awake.

I miss you Car Car, Ho Ho, and Ha Ha.

  6. I was once in a foreign country with two small children and pregnant. . . you are bringing back some depressing memories! (and good ones, but a lot of lonely ones filled with dreams of taco bell and junior bacon cheeseburgers) I feel for you. I hope you get some really good treats back from Utah/America. You deserve them!

  7. All the complaining I was going to do today has just been sacrificed for you.

    You're a tough cookie.
