Baby Brag Blog, and Other Important Information (Or: I Am Not A Christian Hater).

To start things off, I want to thank whoever it was that sent me an autumn leaf. I have my suspicions that it was Erin. Thank you, thank you. It actually brought a tear to my eye and is now hanging on the refrigerator: a constant reminder that someone cares about my lack of weather.

Secondly, I just want to express my appreciation for Def Leppard. I have always liked them, but recently I have come to see them as a cut above the other eighties metal bands. Listen to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" or "You're Bringing on The Heartbreak" and you'll agree. One time I thought Mike and I were completely incompatible because he CHANGED THE RADIO STATION when a Def Leppard song came on. We worked through that rough patch and now we have an understanding.

Thirdly, I have removed my May 13th post regarding Tucson and an organization called "Junque for Jesus." Apparently, my gentle teasing about the spelling and name has garnered some very angry attention. When I got the comment in which I was accused of being a Christian hater, I decided that enough was enough. For the record: I love Christians and actually AM one. Also, I respect and admire all that Junque For Jesus does to help the less fortunate.

And finally, I do not want my blog to become a baby brag blog. However, this blog often functions as a means for family to keep in touch with me. Therefore, I will provide a link to my flickr account so peeps can view the latest pics of Hazel and Holden if they so desire. Here's a little teaser:

Not to brag, or anything.

  1. Go ahead and brag! Babies are worth it. We are so enjoying Jenn's little guy here (not sure how to spell his name!) and Hazel will be about this age at Christmas time, so we will be all primed and ready. She is beautiful, and looks like her mother.

  2. Know that you are not alone this year when it comes to the seasons, or the lack there of. We have had consecutive days of record highs, mid 80s. Evidently, someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that summer was over. Even our trees have not turned their brilliant fall colors. So rest assured, we too are sad for the change of the season.

Great baby Hazel pic. Bring her by anytime you need a sitter!

  3. Have you installed the google desktop sidebar? Here's how great it is: It keeps little pictures rotating through on the side of my desktop. Well, I don't know how it knew to do this but it somehow grabbed these pictures of Hazel from your flicker website and started rotating them through with my other pictures today so I saw this cute pink sweat suit before you even posted it. I love Google, but not more than I love Hazel.

You call yourself a Christian? How can you even say that when you totally trashed Junque for Jesus?

  4. Hazel is adorable. I love the pictures at the link too. Holden looks so grown up! You look so great post birth! My nose looks so big and squashy in the pictures from the hospital (and who are we kidding, from the last three months of the pregnancy).

I didn't know you were acused of being a Christian hater! Between that and that Geshia girl bandwidth thing I don't fully understand, this blog is so controversial! Keep it coming!

  5. She is just just just so adorable and cute and I want to give her hugs and kisses. I remember when Holden was born and I came out to see him I just didn't want to let him go. Ahhhhh!

  6. Ah, Emily. If only I WERE dwelling on past rude comments. Not so. As recently as yesterday one Russell Bartlett wrote a very mean comment on the post. At least he ended it with "Nevertheless, God bless."

Thanks, evabody else for the praise. And Robyn, you are too kind about my post birth pic. Those NEVER look good.

  8. What a beautiful baby! Thank goodness she looks like you!! I enjoyed all the pictures. Are you really coming to the green state at Christmas?? (I am so out of the loop!) I can't wait to see you! BTW you look great! I'm still losing my baby weight six years later! Take care and hug your babies for me!

  9. Thanks, Cami. I think she is pretty cute, myself. Yes, we will be there for Christmas. Yes, I am bringing my GAP card. Yes, we will be shopping together. See you then!

  10. Okay, now I can get excited for the holidays! Warm up that Gap card, baby, because it will be smoking when we are through! See you not soon enough!

  11. Junque for Jesus? I'm sorry I missed that post. Re-post!

    P.S. CUTE baby! Congrats..

  12. Def Leppard is most definitely a cut above other run-of-the-mill hair bands. Hysteria is the soundtrack of my freshman year in college, along with Belinda Carlile's Heaven On Earth.

  13. So THAT'S why I am now receiving death threats from the Christians!

  14. What a beautiful little girl!!! You have every right to brag. I would love to try to get together at Christmas time! Give us a call and we can set up some tummy time for Hazel and Ian and some big kid time for Holden and Maddie.
