Danger Mouse, Here I Come

Not much has been going on around here. I got two haircuts in as many weeks, the result of each leaving me cold and unhappy. (NICK! I NEED YOU). I had two conversations with members of my family, both of whom convinced me that I need to get to the doctor and get me some pills. I reconnected with "Arrested Development" and spent a lot of time looking up Franklin videos and chicken dances on YouTube. I discovered that Hazel's hair fits into a ponytail, and immediately wondered if I should cut it for her. It's sad but true: mothers pass all their emotional baggage on to their daughters. Hazel will grow up exsiting within the ponytail-bored-haircut-miss ponytail-painful growing out-ponytail cycle. Ah well. At least she is pretty. I graded my students' first papers, only to be bombarded with angry tirades and emails about how unfair and wrong a grader I am, and how one particular paper was "perfect" and about how that one particular paper is being emailed to 10 different English professors to be graded (last time I checked, those professors hadn't gotten back to the writer of that one particular paper). Anywho.....occupational hazard, I guess. So not much really is going on--oh, except I am going to London tomorrow. Under strict orders from Holden, I am to find the fire hydrant that Danger Mouse and Penfold secretly call their headquarters. I am also supposed to find Baron Greenback and step on him. I'll let you know how all that works out.

  1. How exciting! I must say that a trip to London without kids sounds lovely. Can't wait to hear how it went. Enjoy!

  2. Your crazy student with the attitude needs to get over himself, I think. Hope you are having (had) fun in London!

  3. Its easy to say don't take it personally, but . . . What a jerk. You need a sham email box that you just delete everything from, and then a real email address for actual adult conversations.
Go for broke - let Hazel have the ponytail!

  4. I LOVE your hair in the London pics--2 hair cuts got it just right.

  5. Marcy,
I don't know who paid you to say it, but I thank you from the bottom of my hair-dysmorphia-ridden heart.
