I Got a New Computer, Dudes!

We've had our old computer since 2004, and it was given to us that year because it was old and needed to be replaced. It has served us well, but in the last couple of years it has started roaring like a jet engine, and then shutting down. Sometimes it just shuts down without the warning roaring sound. It especially likes to shut down while I am trying to come up with a brilliant scrabble move. Forget about youtube or streaming NPR. It will cooperate just long enough for you to get really into a story, then bam! Blackness.  Tricky 'puter! So today we finally got a replacement for old shutty downy. I didn't think electronica mattered much to me. I figured a 'puter's a 'puter as long as I can blog. But I was wrong. Since this new 20 inch iMac has been in my home, I have a whole new outlook on life. I watched an entire episode of Lost and it didn't roar at me. Pictures look sharper. Food tastes better!  Expect great things from me on account of iMovie and garage band from now on.

  1. Carly-
I have had my 20 in. iMac for a couple years, and I Love it! Do a slide show of my Taiwan pics, and let me know what you think. Everything is better with a Mac.

  2. Ah, you joined the iCult of Apple. I'm a part time member, and I have to say that the side of me that likes things to work well and smoothly loves the Mac OS. The side of me that wants to take that computer I just bought up a couple of notches hates it. I think I ultimately haven't gone straight to a Mac because I use Windows too much to really be completely comfortable with it.

  4. Congratulations! Your life will never be the same (in a good way). Don't let your kids use it. It's too special.

  5. I'm jealous. I want a Mac but since I'm married to a PC dude, it ain't happening anytime soon.

I have high expectations, but I know you won't disappoint (no pressure!).
