Ahhh, to Live Where Clark Gable Sat

We are in full apartment-hunting mode, and I have found the home for me. It's called Mission Palms. Now, sure it's a little more expensive than some others we have looked at. But you pay for what you get, like the chance to take lots and lots of pictures in front of this sign

Can you imagine the possibilities? Well, I HAVE imagined them--all night long for the last week. I am currently trying to convince Mike that the extra hundred dollars we would pay in rent is worth the fact that we can park it in the same spot that Clark Gable did so many years ago. I hear Clark Gable had halitosis and that Vivian Leigh despised him while they were filming "Gone with the Wind." Marcy Dibbleblotts: Is this true? Halitosis or not, the man was handsome, baby.

There are other reasons to love Mission Palms (though who really needs other reasons?): the apartments are spacious, have a washer and dryer, and are located in a citrus grove. Hello! I'd have to break my "no breakfast" policy in order to make fresh-squeezed orange juice for my family every morning.

Check it out and tell me you wouldn't want to live where Clark Gable sat.

  1. HOW MANY OF YOU "CLARK LOVERS" HAVE EVEN SEEN GONE WITH THE WIND??? (Just kidding. That was me too.)

  2. I hear there's a "Fred Astaire danced here" sign in front of a building a few blocks away...

  3. Hey - I would say go for it. People would be more likely to visit you and stay for weeks at a time so that they could gaze daily at the place where Clark Gable sat!

  4. Yizzle--Word on the street is that Clark had chronic halitosis.

I hope you move here so I can come visit you at this rockin' joint.

  5. I think it looks wonderful. I especially am intrigued about the putting green. How high brow! You can take Holden out to prepare him for his PGA career...and (as he makes his milliions) he'll owe it all to your loving outings to the putting green at Mission Palms.

I can see the ESPN special now...

  7. Yes, honestly, who really needs more reasoning. Ah, I could just sit there for hours staring at that spot, hahaha, how pathetic.
